Winging Our Way Through February

Hi Everybody

Hope that the fires and the floods this week haven't effected anyone.  We are preparing for a huge amount of    rain tomorrow in Sydney.  Let's see how accurate the weather guys are (one of my little foyables, outside the world of fabric).

WHAT'S NEW

Yummy new A Day in the Country.

Four new Quilt Tsushin magazines.  Wonderful Japanese mag.

CLASS ACTION

Sue Ross's Sunday class.

Congratulations Jen, it's beautiful.  This is the first top Jen has finished, she has many others on the go but this one is finished.  She can now have the hand quilting experience.

Sneak peek at one of Sue's new quilts for this year.

How's this for a first quilt.  Well done Judy.  This was made in Linda Butcher's class.

SHOP PARADE

One of our regular social sewing groups we call "Geraldine's Group".  This group has been meeting in the shop for a number of years.  I ran in with the camera so I can share what they are up to with you.

Everyone is so talented.  This group knits superbly as well.

Back in the Groove

Hi Everyone

We are back to running our normal classes now, Summer School is over.  I hope that everyone who played at Summer School enjoyed themselves.  That they feel inspired to create quilts to treasure.

WHAT'S NEW

Love this Collection, it a reproduction range, my guess Circa 1900, but the palette is strong and just wonderful for what I call those crossover quilts.  Where you combine reproduction prints with "modern" prints.

CLASS ACTION

We have focussed on how the regular classes look for this year, and we saw that there are a number of vacancies in classes that have been "full" for years.  So now is your chance to grab a spot in these classes.

Margaret Sampson-George - the 1st Tuesday of the Month
Lynne Alchin - the 3rd Saturday of the Month
Anne Sommerlad - the 2nd Tuesday or the 4th Wednesday of the Month.

To book in please call the shop on 02 95504947.

KWIK - STICK PANTS WORKSHOP
with Anne Sommerlad

This Workshop was so popular at Summer School we have organised another Workshop on short notice for those who couldn't get into that Workshop.  There is something about making a pair of easy pants that actually fit you that is very appealing.  I was one of the people who didn't make it into the Summer School Workshop.  We have a few places vacant.

Kwik Stick Pants Workshop - Thursday 21 February.  Please ring the shop 02 95594947 to more details and to book your spot.

BRIGITTE GIBLIN

Firstly, a big welcome to Brigitte Giblin and all her students.  Here are some shots of her class.

Here's Brigitte, working on her IPurse.

The Class

We have Brigitte's book Feathering the Nest back in stock now.  I know numbers are getting short and the book will need to be reprinted shortly.

Margaret- Sampson George's first class for the year.

Lyn has finished her stunning quilt.  Wow.

Anne Sommerlad's first class.  Everyone seemed very busy.

2013 is Off and Running

Hi Everyone

We are all back now.  I don't think we have more staff away for at least two weeks.

The year has really begun, we have our first "regular" class on today, just one more Summer School Workshop to go.  The delivery trucks are lining up.  Lots and lots of new bolts scattered throughout the shop.  You should pop in and see what's new.
